About IFAEThe Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) is a public consortium of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). IFAE conducts research in particle physics, astroparticle physics, and cosmology. It has the status of a University Institute attached to UAB and is part of the UAB campus. IFAE is accredited for the Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence for the period 2025-2029.
Theoretical Physics GroupThe Theory Group focuses on Beyond the Standard Model physics and cosmology. Senior members include D. Blas, E. Masso, A Pomarol, O. Pujolas, M. Quiros, F. Rompineve, E. Salvioni, and A. Wulzer. The group collaborates with experimental colleagues on colliders, cosmology, gravitational waves, astroparticles, and quantum technologies.
Required Skills and Evaluation CriteriaEvaluation criteria and weighting:
The candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research in physics beyond the standard model, formal quantum field theory aspects, gravitation, gravitational waves, quantum sensing, cosmology, and astroparticle physics. The goal is to obtain a PhD within four years.
