What You'll Do BCG X is BCG's premier data science and advanced analytics capability with 1000+ data scientists, engineers, and analysts globally. Within BCG X, our X. Delivery Teams are our hybrid client-facing/consulting-support that leverages available tools and code bases to deliver powerful and specialized insights that help our clients tackle their most pressing business problems. We partner with BCG case teams across the full analytics value chain: framing new business challenges and problems, designing and executing innovative analytical solutions, and interpreting findings for our clients. Geo Analytics is a sub-team in X. Delivery with expertise in geospatial data, analytics and technology. Our 35+ member team is a global resource, working with clients in every BCG region and in every industry area. It is a core member of BCG X - a rapidly growing analytics enterprise at BCG deploying a constellation of teams focused on driving practical results for BCG clients by applying leading edge technologies. As an Analyst in Geo Analytics, you will be solving a variety of Ubicación-based analytical problems for our clients. You will utilize your knowledge of geospatial data and analytics while using tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Python, and visualization/analytical platforms (ex. Tableau, Alteryx). You will leverage a range of techniques such as geospatial clustering, network analysis, Ubicación-based optimization and predictive analytics/modeling. You will be expected to distill insights from your analysis and link them to business objectives. You will contribute to IP development, content development, and support internal marketing. You will also have opportunities to experiment with emerging capabilities, including the selective use of Gen AI to enhance analysis workflows and accelerate insight generation. What You'll Bring Education & Experience Qualifications: 1-3 years of relevant work experience in Geo Analytics with advanced degree preferred Relevant degree in geospatial related field such as: Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing, Urban Planning, Statistics/Geo Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science Previous experience working in a global organization or professional services firm is preferred Demonstrated experience in the following: Conducting web-based research for open data sources; handling, understanding, and assessing new datasets; and stitching together disparate datasets to conduct custom analyses Applying geospatial data, tools, and technology to solve problems for businesses across multiple topics Technical experience in the following: GIS software such as ESRI Arc GIS or QGIS Data management skills (e.g. data modeling, QA/QC, querying, analysis) Data science programming/coding in Python and/or R including use of spatial libraries/packages (eg Geo Pandas, Rasterio, GDAL/OGR, Terra..) Business Intelligence/data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, etc. Applied descriptive statistics and analytical methods (e.g., correlation, regression, clustering) within machine learning frameworks to address geospatial problems Remote sensing skills (handling, processing, and deriving insights) and optimization skills (linear programming/heuristics) are beneficial Web-GIS development skills (Java Script, HTML, CSS) in Arc GIS environment (JS SDK, Python API, Ex B custom widgets, etc.) are beneficial Familiarity with optimization models applied to Ubicación-based problems (VRP, Network Optimization, Supply Chain Optimization, etc.) is beneficial Boston Consulting Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
