While all Animation studios look to hire people who are creative and hard-working, Skydance Animation is specifically looking for pioneers who seek to push the limits of what the world’s most collaborative art form can achieve, and to give those pioneers the space and the resources to build a new studio that’s doing something different. - The Technical Director designs and develops innovative tools to ovee specific challenges related to the department’s developments for our next animated feature film. This effort seeks to implement solutions that off-the-shelf software would not proe while maximizing productivity and meeting the high-quality standard set by thepany. The scope of the developments may be from a simple python script to a larger development involvingplex algorithms. Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains the required tools following the requirements supplied by the production departments and following the Production Engineering Team ges.
• Partners with Artists and other Engineers to iterate, debug, document, and refine tools and processes for feature film production.
• Works on short-term needs, originated by shot challenges.
• Acts as first support line to solve day-to-day problems artists may encounter.
• Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and thepany in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
• Works together with the team proing them with support, gance and instruction in areas that contribute towards their artistic and professional growth.
• Follows the Supervisor’s and Lead s gance.

Requirements

• 5+ years in the graphics development industry (animation, eogames, research…)
• Expert in C++.
• Good understanding of vector and matrix math.
• Experience with Arnold and USD, particularly with the development of plugins for them.
• Proficient in Python.
• Houdini 3D software knowledge desirable.
• Experience working with a source version control system (git desirable).
• Good understanding of production pipelines.
• Experience with agile development and scrum methodology.
• High English level desirable.
• Spanish desirable.
